Two people received non life-threatening injuries when an off-duty Outagamie County Sheriff’s deputy traveling in the wrong lane collided head on with another vehicle in Calumet County. The crash happened shortly before 9:30pm Saturday on WIS 441 NB at EAST OF USH 10 near Appleton. According to the State Patrol a pick-up truck was northbound on STH 441, when the operator missed the intended exit. The operator completed a U turn on the highway and traveled southbound in the northbound lanes, striking a northbound car head-on. Both drivers were transported to Theda Care Medical Center with what were described as non life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pick-up was identified as an off-duty deputy from the Outagamie Sheriffs Department. The car driver is from Appleton. The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating.
