5-27-20 jump in covid-19 cases in fdl county

The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says there was another significant jump in COVID-19 cases over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.   Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says there were 25 new cases reported over the weekend bringing to 182, the total number of positive cases in Fond du Lac County.   Mueller says a lot of the people who tested positive were already quarantining themselves because of their exposure to a positive case.   Meanwhile, Mueller says her office will be closely watching to see if there is a spike in cases due to gatherings over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.    She says those results would show up in the next couple of weeks.   Mueller says the state Department of Health Services is listing the death of  longtime Fond du Lac attorney Steve Sager as a Fond du Lac  County COVID-19 death.  Sager  died May 17.  He was 76.   There have been four deaths in Fond du Lac County from COVID-19.  There are currently 70 active cases,  108 recovered cases and nine people currently hospitalized in Fond du Lac.
