The executive director of the downtown Fond du Lac Partnership is encouraging small businesses to apply for a new statewide grant to help them reopen during the COVID-19 pandemic. Amy Hansen says small businesses can apply for the grant through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation beginning Monday June 15. Hansen says the grant money can be used for health and safety improvements, wages and salaries, rent, mortgages and inventory. A business may apply if it was in business in February, employs 20 or fewer people, and has less than $1 million in annual revenue. The application period will be for one week from Monday June 15 through Sunday June 21. The program will provide $2500 grants to 30,000 small businesses across the state.
