6-30-20 fdl school board appoints new board member

The Fond du Lac School Board has appointed the first African-American to serve on the board.   After more than three hours of interviewing eight candidates to fill a vacancy the board has selected Antonio Godfrey Sr. to fill the seat vacated by the resignation of board member Peggy Breister.  School Board vice president Mark Jurgella says Godfrey’s community and school district involvement set him apart from the other candidates.  Godfrey is the first black person to serve in the history of the Fond du Lac school board.  He will be sworn into office at the next school board meeting.
