2-25-15 pheasant hunter shot in face in dodge county

A pheasant hunter received non-life threatening injuries after being shot in the face Tuesday afternoon in the Town of Leroy. At 1:40 p.m., the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to the hunting accident at N11077 Dairy Road. Sheriff’s authorities say a 43 year old Mukwonago man and a 58 year old Richfield man were hunting pheasants on private land when the incident occurred. The Richfield man shot at a flying pheasant, and the bird shot struck the Mukwonago man in the face, who was 40 to 50 yards away. The man received non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Aurora Medical Center in Hartford. All hunters were wearing orange hats and vests
