2-27-15 fdl man convicted of threatening firefighter with a knife

A Fond du Lac man accused of threatening another man with a knife in front of an elementary school has been convicted.  Fifty four year old Leonard Dake entered an Alford plea to a charge of second degree recklessly endangering safety,  Charges of possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer were dismissed and read into the record.  Fond du Lac judge Peter Grimm withheld sentence and placed Dake on three years probation with orders to have no contact with school district property.  Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says Dake and a Fond du Lac firefighter  got into an argument  outside Evans School last June.  Both men were at the school to pick up their kids.  Klein says Dake threatened Edgar Ramirez-Tellez, lunging at him with a knife.  Police used a Taser to subdue Dake before taking him into custody.  The school was placed in lockdown.  Nobody was injured.
