Prom and graduation are times when unfortunately the spotlight turns to celebrations that can lead to underage drinking. North Fond du Lac police chief Darren Pautsch says each year across the United States, hundreds of teens are killed or injured in alcohol-related traffic crashes connected with prom and graduation celebrations. Pautsch says more than one third of youth killed in alcohol-related traffic crashes occur during the months of April, May and June. Pautsch says parents can ensure safe celebrations by making it clear they want to be part of their child’s smart and safe decisions.
