10-24-17 health insurance subsidies

A spokesman for a health care advocacy group says president Trump’s decision to end health insurance subsidies goes against his promise to lower health insurance premiums.   Trump announced last week the subsidies would end.  In Wisconsin the loss of subsidies is projected to result in premiums increasing 36 percent for the average insurance plan sold through the federal exchange.  Kevin Kane with Citizen Action Wisconsin says he’s not confident that Congress will be able to pass comprehensive health care reform.  House Speaker Paul Ryan says the subsidies Trump is eliminating were unconstitutional and he’s glad Trump is ending them.  Kane says Republicans have been trying  to get rid of Obamacare since it was enacted.
