9-11-19 vaping regulations

The Fond du Lac County Tobacco Control Program coordinator says the latest information regarding people who developed severe lung diseases after vaping shows the need for regulation of vaping products.  The state Department of Health Services announced last week that most of the people who had respiratory issues after vaping used e-cigaretttes or other vaping devices containing THC-the main active chemical in marijuana.  Sandy Bernier says the fact that the vaping products are not regulated is a recipe for disaster.  “Pretty much anything you can melt down in a spoon you can put in these electronic cigarettes,”  Bernier told WFDL news.  Both the Milwaukee  Health Department and American Lung Association in Wisconsin have issued a health alert, warning residents to stop vaping.
