Republican Senator Majority leader Scott Fitzgerald says he feels confident the major Wiconsin professional sports teams will be able to resume their seasons this year. Fitzgerald made the comments after phone calls this week with representatives from the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks and Green Bay Packers for updates on how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected their teams and what assistance from Wisconsin would be be helpful moving forward. “There’s definately and eagerness to get back to a normal schedule,” Fitzgerald told AM 1170s Between the Lines program. “They each have their own unique perspectives but I’m optimistic, I really am.” Fitzgerald says he envisions fans being able to attend games with restrictions on the number of fans allowed into arenas and stadiums. Fitzgerald says there are major isssues when it comes to large group gatherings. He says he will continue to keep the lines of communication open.
