Local health officials are praising a mask mandate, an area Republican lawmaker says it’s an overreach and law enforcement say they won’t enforce it. Wisconsin governor Tony Evers issued the emergency order last Thursday amid a spike in coronavirus cases. Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the order takes the onus off local businesses. Republican state representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt the governor has overreached with the order. Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says his office doesn’t have the resources to enforce the order. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt also says the order would be almost impossible to enforce.
