8-14-20 marquette law school poll-school reopening

The latest Marquette Law School Poll shows Wisconsin residents are split when it comes to reopening schools this fall amid the coronavirus pandemic.  Poll director Charles Franklin says it’s interesting that the poll found parents of school age children are more comfortable with in-class instruction than the population at large.  The poll found 45 percent say they feel comfortable letting students return to school in the fall and 48 percent say they are uncomfortable with reopening schools.  Among those with school age children at home, 53 percent are comfortable and 45 percent are uncomfortable.  Franklin says the poll found some regional differences in people’s feelings.  Forty percent feel we should keep schools and businesses open even if COVID cases rise, while 54 percent disagree with this.
