8-26-20 grothman votes against usps bill

Republican congressman Glenn Grothman says he voted against emergency funds for the U.S. Postal Service because the agency doesn’t need it.   The House passed a bill Saturday giving $25 billion to the Postal Service and reversing  recent cost-cutting operational changes.  Grothman says he disagrees with Democrats who contend the support is necessary to reinforce the agency ahead of the November election when many voters are expected to case main-in ballots due to the coronavirus pandemic.  The bill’s  author says new internal Postal Service documents show the Postmaster General was notified of nationwide delays over the last two months due to his operational changes.
