2020 Bridge Maintenance Project
Schedule: September 2020 through October 2021
Description: The project includes maintance work on various bridges throughout the City. Some of the work items will require a full bridge/road closures while other items of work will only have limited lane closures or restrictions.
Project Scope: Work items include polymer/epoxy overlay, concrete overlay, concrete surface repairs, riprap and slope protection, bridge railing anchor replacement, replace missing railing caps, crack sealing, grout storm pipes, clearing and grubbing, approach milling and paving and box culvert cleaning.
September 21 to September 25: Western Avenue Bridge over West Branch Fond du Lac River: The bridge contractor will complete surface repairs, prepare for epoxy overly and install the epoxy overlay this week. However, the work is weather dependent, both moisture and temperature. Therefore, work may extend into the following week. The City crews may begin concrete and inlet repairs east and west of the bridge this week.
Traffic Impacts: Western Avenue Bridge and sidewalk will be closed: The bridge will be closed for access across until work is completed. The sidewalks will be closer while work is in progressing.
Detour Route: The traveling public is directed to follow the signed detour:
East Bound (EB) – S. Hickory Street to Forest Ave. to S. Brook Street. West Bound (WB) – S. Brook Street to S. Hickory Street which is reverse order of EB. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours. Motorists are asked to please use caution when driving through this construction area.

  1. Military Road from Oak Park Avenue to S. Hickory Street

Schedule: March 2020 through October 2020
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, and restoration/landscaping.
September 21 to September 25: The concrete contractor will continue setting forms, pouring sidewalk, and driveway approaches. The landscapers will begin backfilling the terrace areas and begin restoration later on in the week.
Traffic Impacts: S. Military Road remains closed to through traffic from S. Hickory Street to Seymour Street.  Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties and businesses past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours. Motorists are asked to please use caution when driving through this construction area.
11 th Street from Park Ave to Martin Avenue
Schedule: May 2020 through October 2020
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals,  storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, and restoration/landscaping.
September 21 to September 25: The concrete contractor will continue pouring the curb and may potentially begin pouring sidewalks and drive approaches towards the end of the week.
Traffic Impacts: 11 th Street is closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
Division Street from Park to Hazotte Court and Hazotte Court from Division Street North to Dead End
Schedule: May 2020 through October 2020
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals,  storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, and restoration/landscaping.
September 21 to September 25: The utility contractor will continue replacing the storm sewer main down Hazotte Court and begin installing the storm laterals and catch basins throughout the week.
Traffic Impacts: Hazotte Court is closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
County Road V/Fond du Lac Avenue/National Avenue
Schedule: March 2020 through October 2020
Description of work: The project includes reconstruction of the water main and services and partnership with Fond du Lac County for new storm sewer, street, pedestrian trail, and lighting.
September 21 to September 25: Permanent signing and street lighting should be completed. The street should open to traffic by 09/25/2020.
Traffic impacts: The intersections of County Road V/Fond du Lac Avenue/National Avenue remain closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs.
