10-1-20 fdl county public health officer reacts to football coach testing positive

The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says she was disappointed to learn that a youth football coach would knowingly jeopardize the health of the kids he was coaching.    The Washington County youth football coach was fired after attending a practice and scrimmage even though he had been tested for COVID-19 and then told he was positive.  Public Health Officer Kim Mueller was notified because the coach lives in Fond du Lac County.   Mueller says she can’t believe the coach essentially blew off the contact tracer when the tracer told him he tested positive.  “There’s so many things that went wrong there,”  Mueller told WFDL news.  “When somebody’s symptomatic and they’re getting tested, and they’re wating for results,  they should be isolating at home.  It is likely they are going to be testing positive.”
