The director of the Green Lake Chamber of Commerce says a renovated historic Heidel House resort will have a tremendous economic impact on the area. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held last week for a multi-million dollar renovation project with plans to reopen the revitalized property in May of next year. Green Lake Chamber director Lisa Beck says it’s an iconic place that Green Lake is known for and she says residents are beyond excited to have it coming back. The resort closed two years ago, but Beck says she always thought someday it would reopen under new ownership. Green Lake Hotel Group LLC and Lighthouse Development Group closed on the sale of the Heidel House on September 30. Beck says the Heidel House is important for the entire area.
