An Ethics Board hearing scheduled for Friday for Fond du Lac city councilmember Ben Giles has been postponed. The hearing will be rescheduled to give attorneys more time to prepare. Last month the Board found probable cause that Giles violated three sections of the city’s Ethics Code: Dedicated Service, Fair and Equal Treatment and Conflict of Interest. The decision to postpone follows two separate developments in the last couple of weeks. Oshkosh police completed an investigation into allegations that Giles used his council office for private gain and the release of email correspondence between a business group, Giles and other city officials regarding the Lakeside Park alternative master plan.
