Republican state senator Dan Feyen of Fond du Lac says a pared-down COVID-19 relief package approved by the state senate this week is a win for Wisconsin. “It has liability protections for our schools, non-profits and businesses. It’s something a lot of our schools in the area have been asking for,” Feyen told WFDL news. Feyen says he hopes the Assembly can realize there are good things in the bill. Assembly Republicans passed a bill last week but governor Evers opposed it. Senate Republicans scaled the measure back, removing provisions that would prohibit local health officials from ordering businesses closed for more than two weeks at a time and block mandatory vaccinations.
