The Fond du Lac Ethics Board has dismissed a complaint filed against a Fond du Lac city councilmember. The complaint was brought against Patrick Mullen centering around his involvement in a lawsuit filed against the city by a citizens group regarding the Lakeside Park alternate master plan before he was a candidate for council. Mullen says he’s pleased the Board acted quickly to resolve the issue. “I’m happy about that,” Mullen told WFDL news. “I would like to thank them (Ethics Board) for meeting so quickly.” The complaint, filed by Josh Wilsmann, alleged Mullen was the beneficiary of funds raised by the Friends of Lakeside Park to help legal fees in a lawsuit in which Mullen and the Friend’s group were co-petitioners. Mullen was not on the council at the time and told WFDL news the city attorney assured him there was no conflict of interest. The Ethics Board agreed.
