5-11-21 low vaccine demand

As interest in the COVID-19 vaccine plateaus in Wisconsin, public health officials say they will continue to educate the public about the importance of getting vaccinated.  Wisconsin ordered only 9,000 Pfizer doses and 2,000 Moderna doses this week,  after being allocated more than 86,500 Pfizer doses and 66,000 Moderna doses with demand for the vaccine softening.  Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says it’s an incredible change, a complete switch from a month ago when her office was pleading with the state for more vaccine.   Mueller says health officials will continue to educate the public about the importance of getting vaccinated.  Less than 40 percent of the state’s population has been fully vaccinated.
