5-21-21 new fdl elementary school principal

The Fond du Lac School District has hired a new principal for Rosenow Elementary School.   Matt Wolfert comes to Fond du Lac from the Appleton School District where he is the Dean of Students and PBIS Internal Site Coordinator at Franklin Elementary School.   He succeeds Principal Mike Mockert, who is  retiring at the end of the school year.    “It is important to me that all students know that their successes will be celebrated, they will be encouraged to try their best, and that they are valued and have a special place in our school,” said Wolfert. “I look forward to building strong relationships with you as we work together to ensure the learning, safety and emotional growth of every child.”   Wolfert received a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Carroll University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh.  Wolfert began his educational career as an Instructional Coach with the US Peace Corps in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.   He then taught second and third grade at Houdini Elementary School for three years. During that time, he pursued active leadership roles by participating in curriculum work groups and then serving as the Summer School Coordinator for Johnston and Jefferson Elementary Schoo
