After being cancelled last year due to the pandemic, Fond du Lac’s Walleye Weekend is being held this weekend at Lakeside Park. The event gets underway Friday afternoon and continues through Sunday and coincides with the Merc National Walleye Fishing Tournament. Fond du Lac Festivals director Pete Wilke says safety will always be the priority. “There’s fewer events this year so there’s more room to spread out,” Wilke told WFDL news. “We made sure to pick the crowd favorites, the family-friendly events and shows.” Wilke says organizers will continue to monitor public health guidelines. He says there will be some modifications to the footprint, set-up and events.
