The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says while the number of new positive cases of COVID-19 has not peaked, it’s good to see hospitalizations have stabilized in the last few days. Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says all but two of the 13 people currently hospitalized in Fond du Lac County with the virus are not vaccinated. Meanwhile, Mueller says news that drugmaker Merck has asked U.S. regulators to authorize an antiviral pill against COVID-19 is encouraging. All COVID-19 drugs now authorized by the FDA require an IV or injection.
