Fond du Lac’s St. Agnes Hospital will be featured in a documentary that focuses on SSM Health and the challenges faced during the pandemic. The hour-long documentary, “Behind the Mask” airs at 7pm Thursday on channel 4 in Milwaukee and channel 32 in Green Bay. St. Agnes Hospital president Katherine Vergos says the greater Fond du Lac area was one of the first in Wisconsin to begin caring for COVID-19 patients. Vergos says that meant staff had to be innovative and charter uncertain waters. Vergos says from the start SSM Health collaborated with the Fond du lac County Health Department to bring forward innovative ways to address the crisis. Vergos says the biggest surprise that’s she’s learned over the past 18-plus months is the continued uncertainty over who COVID-19 will impact and how. SSM Health president and CEO Laura Kaiser says the documentary calls all of us to remember those we’ve lost and those who are still suffering.
