A Fond du Lac man is in custody accused of attacking a Fond du Lac officer. Shortly before 10:30pm Thursday police received a call about a neighbor attempting to break down a door at an apartment building on East Merrill Avenue. A 44 year old Fond du Lac man is accused of assaulting the officer in the second floor hallway of the apartment building. The officer was treated at St. Agnes Hospital for a broken nose, fractured finger, and other non-life threatening injuries. The officer, who is a four year veteran of the police department, was released from the hospital after treatment. The suspect was transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
