3-9-22 fdl resident fears for safety of relatives in ukraine

A Fond du Lac resident who was born in Ukraine fears for the safety of his father and other relatives who still live in the country.   Vladimir Terechenko moved to Fond du Lac with his mother in 2003 when he was 12 years old.  He tells WFDL news his father and other relatives hear the bombs explode as the Russian army continues it’s assault.  “Whatever you see on the news it’s pretty much ten times as worse,”  Terechenko told WFDL news.  “I talked to my father,  the place where he lives in a nine story high building,  it got bombed yesterday.  So it got wiped out.”   Terechenko says there is no doubt in his mind that Russian president  Vladimir Putin is targeting civilians.  “Absolutely, this is one of Vladimir Putin’s tactics,”  Terechenko said.  “They will always do this and they will never stop.”  Terechenko says he believes Ukraine can defeat Russia if the country receives military assistance from the United States and other countries.
