FOOD Trucks are coming to Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on Sunday May 29.  From 11am to 5 pm, Oven Island will be the site of the Fondy Food Truck Festival.  Two dozen Food Trucks will be serving a variety of cuisine. In addition to food there will be music by the Fondy duo, Until Dawn, educational booths and multiple activities for kids and adults.  Over 20 community organizations are participating including the Fond du lac Sheriff Dive Team,  Fond du Lac Police Department K9, FDL Humane Society and Sandi Paws Dog Rescue.  The Festival is FREE and open to all.    For years, Fondy residents have been talking about Food Trucks in Lakeside Park.  Last year,  the Friends of Lakeside Park held two highly successful Food Truck Festivals.  The festival is sponsored by the Friends of Lakeside Park, a newly formed non-profit organization.   “The Lakeside Park Friends are committed to listening to the citizen desires for our beloved park and making them reality!   For years, people have been talking about a food truck event in the park. When it finally happened in 2021, the response was phenomenal,”  Friends spokesman, John Papenheim said.   In addition to the food trucks, numerous organizations will participate in the event.  The Wisconsin Wheelman will be back in period costume and will teach you how to ride an antique bicycle. The Fond du Lac Sheriff’s department boat and dive team, the Fond du Lac Fire Department and the Fond du Lac Police Department will all be there.  Fire trucks, the radar pitch bounce house, 3 animal rescue organizations, and face painting are among some of the highlights.    Other groups attending include Sandi Paws Rescue, Critter Junction small animal rescue and the FDL Humane Society.  The FDL Humane Society will be featuring a puppy kissing booth, Headstart and the FDL Rec Department will have games and activities for kids of all ages.   Betty the Clown will be face painting.  Wisconsin Hero Outdoors will provide education about water activities.  There will be an extensive historical display on the History of Lakeside Park with pictures, maps.  More information can be found at the Friends webpage www.lakesidepark.org or the Friends Facebook page, @lakesideparkfriends.   The Friends are looking for volunteers to help with this event.  If you would like to volunteer, email lakesideparkfriends@gmail.com
