7-1-22 aaa fourth of july holiday travel forecast

AAA projects a million Wisconsinites will travel  for Independence Day.  That’s just over four percent more than last year’s holiday and just shy of those seen in 2019.  State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmusz says Independence Day will be the second busiest since 2000, as travel volumes continue to trend updward with no sign of slowing down.  Jarmusz says gas prices are forecast to be the most expensive for the holiday in history.  Pump prices are approximately 64 percent more expensive than a year ago.
