A  31 year old Fond du Lac man is in custody following a high speed chase and crash in Fond du Lac County.  The chase started shortly before 8pm Saturday on Highway 23 near Heinrich Road when a deputy observed the owner had an active felony warrant and attempted a traffic stop.   The vehicle sped away turning from Rose-Eld Road onto Highway 26 where the chase was terminated.   While checking the area, the deputy observed low hanging power lines across the highway and saw the vehicle had struck a power pole.  The driver fled on foot and was captured in a farm field.  He was treated and released at St. Agnes Hospital for minor injuries and transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail.  The suspect was out on parole for Forgery in Waushara County.  Both lanes on HWY 26 were shut down for approximately 2 hours while Alliant Energy worked to remove the power lines from the roadway.   The pursuit covered a total distance of approximately 6 miles.
