Starting this week you can vote absentee for the August 12th primary. Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg says there are some changes however. “You can’t just call or stop by your town or village clerk. You need to know when they are doing it. They must set hours,” Freiberg said. Freiberg also says you can no longer vote absentee on the weekends. “A lot of our town clerks used to set up a table on a Saturday. That has been taken away.” Meanwhile Freiberg says her office has received complaints about improper campaign sign location for sheriff’s candidate Bill Ledger. Freiberg says some of Ledger’s campaign signs are improperly located on terraces, county property and state property. “I have notified Mr. Ledger about it and as a courtesy sheriff Fink has been notified,” Freiberg said. “As of Friday the Highway Commissioner had started to get complaints.”
