7-31-14 former dodge county sheriff says new records management system was his idea

The former Dodge County sheriff says the challenger in the Dodge County sheriff’s race is criticizing the wrong person over the Department’s new management information system. Challenger Dale Schmidt has criticized sheriff Pat Ninmann over glitches experienced with the New World record management system.  Former sheriff  Todd Nehls says the decision to purchase the new system was his.  “I bought it,”  Nehls told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.  “Her (Ninmann’s) opponent is criticizing the New World records management system that was purchased under my administration.  I put the team together to go throughout the state and midwest to look at other agencies working on this system.  We had three different proposals from three different vendors.  This one was head and shoulders above all others.”  Nehls says he stands by the decision to go with New World and says  eventually the glitches will be worked out. Nehls  says he recommended Ninmann for the post when he retired a little more than a year ago because she was clearly the most qualified for the job.  He says Ninmann has done a great job as sheriff.
