The chairman of a Lakeside Park exploratory committee says the committee hopes to begin the process of formulating recommendations shortly after the first of the year. The committee held its third meeting earlier this week and were asked to think about what they want the park to look like 20 years from now. Committee chairman John Short says two subcommittees are being formed to study park data and current conditions at the park. The committee will tour the park next month with a UW Madison extension resource economist and recreation/tourism planning specialist: The committee was formed to explore potential development options at the park. “We’re identifying some issues in January and some draft strategies in February, in March we hope to have a feasibility report in March,” Short told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program. “Specific ideas I think will be coming out in January, February and March.”
