5-23-15 korean war-burial

RLINGTON, Va. (AP) — A Wisconsin soldier reported missing during the Korean War has been buried at Arlington National Cemetery after his remains went unidentified for years.  The burial for Army Cpl. Francis D. Knobel of La Crosse took place Thursday at the cemetery across the Virginia border from Washington D.C. The 20-year-old was reported missing during the battle of Chosin Reservoir in Korea in December 1950.  Advances in technology allowed the Department of Defense to identify the remains as belonging to Knobel. The remains were initially declared unidentifiable and were buried at the National Memorial of the Pacific in Hawaii.  Knobel’s family was also set to get his medals, including a Purple Heart.
