Ryan Costello is running a half marathon this weekend to raise awareness for multiple sclerosis. Earlier this year the head wrestling coach at Campbellsport High School was preparing to participate in the MS Run the US coast to coast relay. Costello was originally scheduled to run 183 miles in seven days in Utah as part of the relay across America. The relay was cancelled due to the pandemic and Costello will now run his virtual miles in Fond du Lac County Saturday with a group of runners to raise awareness. Costello says his inspiration and reason for participating in the event is his aunt Wendy, who was diagnosed in 2009 with multiple sclerosis. Costello says since his aunt was diagnosed more than a decade ago he’s learned just how devasting the disease can be.
