Fond du Lac County law enforcement will be joining forces this holiday weekend in an effort to make it a safe weekend on area roads. Sheriff’s captain Rick Olig says the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign will focus on drunken driving, underage drinking, social hosting, dangerous driving and seatbelt violations. Olig says the enforcement campaign will also target aggressive, dangerous drivers. Olig says don’t drink and drive. Always plan for a ride before you drink, and make sure your friends do the same. Olig says every day, almost 30 people in the United States die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver. This amounts to one death every 48 minutes.
