11-7-14 burke consultant speaks out

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A consultant who provided Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke with material for her jobs plan that he also gave to other candidates is speaking out about accusations of plagiarism.  Eric Schnurer wrote a first-person piece for The Atlantic that was released online Thursday. It’s the first time Schnurer has spoken publicly about the issue and it comes two days after Burke lost to Republican Gov. Scott Walker by nearly 6 points.  Schnurer says in the article that he recommended to Burke that he be blamed and be fired. He says he remained silent until now out of respect to Burke.  Her campaign spokesman did not immediately return a message seeking reaction. Schnurer also did not immediately return telephone and email messages.
