9-3-15 burnett woman sentenced in convenience store robbery

A Burnett woman will spend some time in jail for her role in the robbery of a Beaver Dam convenience store, as well as dealing heroin. At a plea and sentencing hearing this week, 21 year old Kellie Diels pleaded no contest to charges of harboring or aiding a felon and manufacturing or delivering heroin. Dodge County Circuit Court Judge John Storck imposed and stayed a  five year prison sentence and five years of extended supervision with ten months in jail, and ten years of probation- with five of those years withheld. According to a criminal complaint, the Beaver Dam Police Department and the Dodge County Drug Task Force conducted a controlled drug transaction where heroin was purchased from Diels and another suspect, 23 year old Zachery Turck of Beaverr Dam. They were taken into custody, and a search warrant executed on their vehicle revealed evidence that linked the pair to the June 4th, 2014 armed robbery of Coyote Gas and Liquor. The complaint says Turck admitted to robbing the store to buy drugs. Diels waited in the pair’s vehicle outside of the store as Turck robbed it.
