3-27-17 wi republican congressman doesn’t believe trump administration coordinated with russia

A Wisconsin Republican congressman says allegations that the Trump administration coordinated with Russia to sway the presidential election are absurd.   Congressman Glenn Grothman made the comments in response to FBI director James Comey’s testimony last week that the FBI has been investigating the matter since July.  “I just think its such an absurd claim.  I think it (investigation) will end relatively soon,”  Grothman told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.  “The flames are fanned out there by people who don’t want to accept Donald Trump as president.”   Comey also said he has no information that former president Barack Obama wire-tapped Trump Tower phones during the presidential campaign.  Retired Ripon College political science professor Marty Farrell says while the possible connection between Trump and Russia is not known at this point, there are a lot of interesting coincidences.  “Trump campaign foreign policy advisor, Carter Page, visiting Russia in early July, Paul Manafort had many ties to Russia, Roger Stone said he was in touch with Julian Assange of Wikileaks and that Hiliary’s emails would soon be revealed,”   Farrell told WFDL news.    ‘Would they (Trump administration) be dumb enough to do that?  You would think not.  That’s why its so shocking that there’s even this much smoke out there, these coincidental contacts.  We’ll see if there is a real fire there or not.”
