4-27-17 nfdl school budget preview

The North Fond du Lac School District is getting an early start to planning for next year’s budget.   The school board held a workshop session this week to begin planning for the 2017-18 budget.  Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says initial estimates show a budget deficit of $125,000 to $150,000 but a lot still depends on the state budget.   “We don’t truly know what to expect until we get that done,”  Sadoff told WFDL news.  Meanwhile, the school board also discussed the possibility of an April 2019 operational referendum. “We’re seeing increases for our insurance, for utilities, all these different things, that are outpacing the amount of money we can raise because of revenue caps,”  Sadoff said.  ” so one of the things other districts do is they’ve gone to an operational referendum to maintain the services they have.”
