The Fond du Lac Food Pantry has received a major state grant. The $400,000 Community Development Block grant will allow the food pantry to renovate the vacant St. Vincent de Paul store on Rolling Meadows Drive into a new facility. The pantry has been located at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Fond du lac since 1973. Under the plan the city will provide funding to help renovate the building and St. Vincent de Paul will continue to own the building. Last year the pantry served over two thousand adults and children including nearly 700 students.through the Fond du lac School District’s Food for Thought program. The program provides nutritional food to children on weekends who quality for federal assistance in the school lunch program.
