A new University of Wisconsin Oshkosh study shows that EAA Airventure has a more than $171 million economic impact on the Fox Valley. EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski says the EAA’s impact is greater than the U.S. Open golf tournament held in July or the Green Bay Packers. Knapinski says ‘the benefit is magnified with the majority of AirVenture attendees coming from outside Wisconsin. According to the study, lodging and camping account for 35 percent of the average daily spending per day for each visitor. Food, entertainment, clothing/retail and fuel are also major benefactors of the economic impact .
