6-15-19 landmark fdl tavern closing

An iconic Fond du Lac tavern is closing it’s doors.  Miller’s Pub  on Fond du Lac Avenue is holding a “Last Call” party  Saturday night.   Owner Sherry Miller posted on Facebook that  “after many agonizing talks and tons of prayers, we have decided to close her down.”   Miller started working at the bar in the early 1990s when it was called Annie’s on the Avenue.   In 2008, Annie’s became Miller’s Pub and Miller says she has a lot of  fond memories  over the years, from watching the Packers win the Super Bowl and cheering for the Fondy Bears hockey team, to holding multiple fundraisers for several worthwhile causes.   “We did a lot of great things here and a lot of mission work too.  Sometimes God was here more than he was in some churches and I will say that without batting an eye,”  Miller told WFDL news.  Miller says she is going to miss going to work every morning, but says she is also looking forward to having some time to herself.   “I’m very excited to be able to play in my garden and find my house again, but when I see people I keep saying we’re not saying good bye, I’m just saying see ya!”
