A proposal to purchase the historic Heidel House property in Green Lake has fallen through. A month after the attorney for the Spirit of Green Lake LLC, Steve Sorenson, approached the Green Lake city council requesting a liquor license, Sorenson released a statement announcing the decision against pursuing the property. Sorenson writes the Spirit of Green Lake was formed with the intent it would revitalize the iconic Heidel House hotel and restaurant. Sorenson said after months of work and deliberation the Spirit team reluctantly concluded that they were unable to find a sensible way to achieve their objective. The Heidel House Resort and Spa in Green Lake closed earlier this spring after more than 70 years in business.
