The Fond du Lac County Dairy and Livestock extension agent says a Wisconsin Farm Support program unveiled last week by governor Tony Evers is welcome news for dairy farmers. Extension agent Tina Kohlman says the program provides $50 million in direct payments to Wisconsin farmers and a $15 million Food Security Initiative to combat hunger in Wisconsin. Kohlman says the direct cash relief will help Wisconsin farmers who have been hit especially hard during the COVID-19 pandemic.
