While the odds of it actually happening may be slim, Fond du Lac County is taking steps to prevent someone hacking the county’s election system in an effort to change the vote totals on Election day. The Fond du Lac County board has voted to authorize the county to accept County Election Security subgrant funds to enhance existing security infrastructure. County executive Al Buechel says the upgrades will make the system much more secure from individuals and outside entities who may try to get into the system to manipulate the software.
