8-31-20 fdl weekly construction update

  1. Rees Street from N. Main Street to N. Macy Street and Fond du Lac Police Department (PD) Parking Lot

Schedule: July 2020 through August 2020
Description: The project includes roadway reconstruction, excavation, grading, sidewalk and approaches, restoration/landscaping and lighting. The Police Department parking lot reconstruction will replace asphalt pavement, deteriorated sidewalk and curbing along with moving the flagpoles and adding parking stalls.
August 31 to September 4: Asphalt paving is schedule to be complete before Monday, Aug. 31 but is dependent on the weather. The pavement-marking contractor will be on site once the asphalt pavement is completed, to paint Rees Street and the Police Department parking lot and is scheduled to be completed by Tue. Sept. 1. Rees Street and the Police Department Parking lot will open before mid-day on Wed. Sept. 2 nd , weather dependent.
Traffic Impacts: Notice: The intersection of Rees Street and Macy Street will be closed on Wed. August 26 th – Fri. August 28th for grading and paving of the intersection. Access will be allowed from Johnson Street to the alley between Kwik Trip and the Fond du Lac Police Dept. only. Merrill Street right turn lane north onto Macy Street will be closed as well. However, access from Doty Street to Rees Street and then south on Macy Street will remain open.
Traffic Impacts: W. Rees Street and the Police Department parking lot is closed traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers can past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. However, please utilize access off N. Main St. or N. Macy Street as all properties except for the Police Department parking are accessible off these streets. Access to the Police Department parking lot will be closed, but the Emergency After-Hours Entrance on the northwest corner of the Police Department Parking Lot will remain open. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades if not accessing businesses. Parking is not permitted in the PD parking lot or on the street within the construction zone during working hours.

  1. Military Road from Oak Park Avenue to S. Hickory Street

Schedule: March 2020 through October 2020
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, and restoration/landscaping.
August 31 to September 4: The concrete contractor will pour the intersection at Arlington and intends on pouring sidewalk and driveway approaches.
Traffic Impacts: S. Military Road remains closed to through traffic from S. Hickory Street to Seymour Street.  Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties and businesses past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours. Motorists are asked to please use caution when driving through this construction area.
11 th Street from Park Ave to Martin Avenue
Schedule: May 2020 through October 2020
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, and restoration/landscaping.
August 31 to September 4: The excavation contractor will begin removing pavement, drive approaches, select sidewalk sections, grading and placing stone base.
Traffic Impacts: 11 th Street is closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
Division Street from Park to Hazotte Court and Hazotte Court from Division Street North to Dead End
Schedule: May 2020 through October 2020
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, and restoration/landscaping.
August 31 to September 4: The utility contractor will replace the sanitary sewer main on Division Street and Hazotte Court.
Traffic Impacts: Hazotte Court is closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
Follett Street from Doty Street to Military Road
Schedule: May 2020 through October 2020
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, and restoration/landscaping.
August 31 to September 4: If the asphalt contractor cannot pave the road on Friday due to weather, the asphalt contractor will pave Follett between Doty and Military early in the week.
Traffic Impacts: Follett Street is closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
County Road V/Fond du Lac Avenue/National Avenue
Schedule: March 2020 through October 2020
Description of work: The project includes reconstruction of the water main and services and partnership with Fond du Lac County for new storm sewer, street, pedestrian trail, and lighting.
August 31 to September 4: Street lighting will be completed.  Landscaping and restoration will continue this week, and fine grading will begin later in the week.
Traffic impacts: The intersections of County Road V/Fond du Lac Avenue/National Avenue remain closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs.
Project Detour: Signed detour in place utilizing Pioneer Road, Martin Avenue, and Ninth Street
