A Fond du Lac man who attacked a police officer, sending the officer to the hospital with a broken nose and finger, has been charged. Forty four year old Jayson Keniston made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance Friday on charges of battery to a police officer, substantial battery , resisting and three misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $25,000 cash. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 21. Assistant police chief Steve Klein says officer Marcus Clapper had responded to a Merrill Avenue apartment complex Thursday night for a report that a tennant was trying to break into other apartment units. Klein says officer Clapper was suddenly attacked without provocation.
