Hundreds of people gathered at Fond du Lac’s Lakeside Park Friday evening for the annual Fond du Lac Relay for Life. The event raises money in the fight against cancer. American Cancer Society’s Megan Lane says the fundraising goal was $80,000. “Cancer is a disease that has touched all of us in some sort of way,” Lane told WFDL news. “Relay for Life is an amazing community for anybody impacted by this disease because everyone who is there is really passionate about ending the disease as we know it for everybody.” Money raised goes to the American Cancer Society to support cancer research, education, information and patient services and advocacy.
