Wisconsin governor Tony Evers visited the Fond du Lac School District this week to help with the Fondy CARES (Community Access Responding and Empowering Students) School-Based Mental Health Kick Off event. The governor spoke at the Goodrich Little Theater, on his theme of “what’s best for our kids is what’s best for our state—that includes supporting student and youth mental health.” In the 2022-23 school year alone, the Fondy CARES program provided 7,312 therapy sessions The Fondy CARES program collaborates with local community-based agencies to offer comprehensive mental health services that go beyond what is typically available in a school setting. These services are delivered by licensed therapists during the school day at all FDL-SD facilities, benefiting each and every student.
