10-27-23 fdl school district considers upgrades to baseball and softball fields

After spending more than $5 million out of the district’s fund balance to pay for an artificial turf football field the Fond du Lac School District is considering upgrades to high school baseball and softball fields.   At a workshop session this week superintendent Dr. Jeff Fleig told the school board the district cannot afford the initial  estimated $5.2 million cost, which would have included parking, and a concession stand.   Dr, Fleig says there are several improvements that are needed right now at a cost of about $2 million.  Those improvements would include new fencing, artificial turf infields, drainage, and dugout upgrades.
